A love song to Glasgow from the point of view of a lad growing up in the western suburbs, occasionally taking the train in from Gilmour Street to explore the thrills of the big city.

It may be that Michel Faber's excellent novel "Under the Skin" also sees Glasgow life from the point of view of an outsider.
